About
An independent guide from plot to home
Acres and Square Feet helps property owners in Bangalore understand, plan and execute better decisions, through practical tools, clear guidance and verified local professionals.
What we are, and what we are not
We are a neutral property-planning and construction-intelligence platform. We are not a construction company, and not a listings portal. Our job is to help you make expensive, confusing decisions with clarity.
How we stay honest
- Estimates are ranges with stated assumptions, never false precision.
- We disclose commercial relationships and label paid placement.
- We collect only the data your request needs, and share it only with your consent.
- We do not offer legal, structural or financial advice as a substitute for licensed professionals.
How we earn
We earn from verified professionals when we connect them to genuine, consented enquiries, and from optional related services. That keeps our tools and guides free for you. Where money changes hands, we disclose it.
Who runs it
Acres & Square Feet is a venture of GKLINKS, a proprietorship firm based in Bangalore, India. GKLINKS provides governance and operational oversight; the platform is run independently and neutrally.
The problem we exist for
Building a house in Bangalore means making irreversible decisions with information that is mostly marketing. Search any cost question and you get builder blogs quoting a single confident number, portals that want your phone number before they tell you anything, and forum posts from four rule changes ago.
Meanwhile the actual rules moved. BBMP ceased to exist in May 2025 and was replaced by the Greater Bengaluru Authority and five city corporations. Setbacks and height limits changed again in January 2026. Most of the pages ranking for these questions have not noticed either event. Being merely accurate is, unfortunately, a competitive advantage.
How we handle numbers
Every cost figure on this site is a range, dated, with its assumptions written next to it. We do this because a single number is always either a guess dressed up as a fact or a quote for a project that is not yours.
- No false precision. If the honest answer is 41.7 cubic feet, we do not print 41.651.
- Dated assumptions. Package rates carry the month they were gathered, so you can judge how stale they are.
- We cite official bodies, not competitors. Sources on our area pages link to corporations, planning authorities and statutes. We deliberately do not cite builder blogs or property portals, however well they rank.
- We say when we do not know. Where a rule is secondary-sourced or genuinely unsettled, the page says so and tells you who to ask. Our plot tools refuse to give you a figure at all if your plot sits outside the Greater Bengaluru Area, rather than quoting city numbers that do not apply.
What happens when we are wrong
We will be, at some point. Rules change, rates move, and we make mistakes like everyone else. When it happens we correct the page and change the date on it rather than quietly editing and pretending otherwise. If you find something wrong, tell us and we will fix it, whether or not you are ever going to be a customer.
Your data, and why our calculators are private
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your plot size, your budget and your loan figures are never sent to us, because there is nothing to send them to. You can price your entire project here and leave without us knowing you visited.
If you do submit a brief, we collect only what that request needs, and we introduce you to a professional only when you tell us to. There is no email wall on any tool or guide, and there never will be.
